Teacher Cycling Community Membership Policy

1. Purpose:

  • The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines for membership in the Teacher Cycling Community, fostering a global network of educators passionate about cycling.

2. Eligibility:

  • Membership is open to educators worldwide, including teachers, professors, and educational staff.

  • Applicants must provide proof of their affiliation with an educational institution when subscribing.

3. Code of Conduct:

  • Members are expected to uphold a positive, professional and respectful environment.

  • Discrimination, harassment, or any form of inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.

  • Members should adhere to traffic rules, safety rules and promote safe cycling practices.

  • Members are representatives of the community and are expected to uphold the highest of standards, especially when in Teacher Cycling Community kit. 

4. Community Engagement:

  • Members are encouraged to actively participate in community events, both online and offline.

  • Sharing cycling experiences, educational insights, and attending local ambassador rides are encouraged.

5. Social Media Guidelines:

  • Members are representatives of the community; social media posts should reflect positively on the organisation.

  • Use appropriate hashtags and mention the community when sharing cycling-related content.

6. Safety Measures:

  • Members are responsible for their safety during rides.

  • Helmets, front and rear lights, and adherence to local cycling laws are mandatory.

7. Educational Initiatives:

  • Members are encouraged to initiate and participate in educational projects related to cycling in accordance with local cycling laws.

  • Collaborate with other members to create cycling awareness programs for staff within schools.

8. Membership Fees:

  • An annual membership fee may be applicable to cover administrative costs and community events.

  • Fee waivers or discounts may be considered for educators in regions with financial constraints.

9. Communication Channels:

  • The community will utilize online platforms, newsletters, and social media for communication.

  • Regular updates, event announcements, and educational resources will be shared.

10. Termination of Membership:

  • Violation of the code of conduct may result in the termination of membership.

  • Members are entitled to an appeal process before a final decision is made.

11. Amendments:

  • The community reserves the right to amend this policy as needed.

  • Members will be notified of any changes, and their feedback may be considered in the amendment process.

By becoming a member of the Worldwide Teacher Cycling Community, individuals agree to abide by these guidelines and contribute positively to the community's mission of promoting cycling among educators globally.
