Director of Music, Benton School Leeds
- what’s your current focus in education?
Continuing to try and enthuse all students about music while building extra curricular activities and increasing the numbers opting for the subject.
- how does riding help you?
Everyone knows teaching is an easy job 😉 It helps clear my head at the start and the end of the day as well as keeping up my fitness. Basically I love being outside.
- why did you apply to be an ambassador/what would you like to do as an ambassador?
I applied to be an ambassador to help spread the word about commuting to work. Also I enjoy organising rides and sharing my passion and common interests with other people.
- what do you think is special about TCC?
TCC is special as it brings people who work in education together from all over the world. Also everyone I've met through them seems super friendly.
- what are your current bike(s) and dream bike:
Giant TCR - summer bike. Giant Propel - retired summer bike (spring and autumn bike 🤣). Specialized Diverge Carbon Comp gravel bike. Canyon Grail AL gravel/commuting bike

- what’s your best cycling achievement or memory?
Many memories - racing, Roubaix and Flanders sportives, C2C in a day, Girona, lots of iconic climbs etc..
- what’s your best teaching achievement or memory?
Best teaching memories are of some of the concerts and shows in which students have performed to an amazing level. Also it's been so rewarding to watch students grow as people through music.
- do you have a golden tip for teaching and/or cycling?
Teaching - always try to see the positives. Be resilient!!!
Cycling - just get out and ride!!! Oh and make sure you enjoy it.
