- what’s your current teaching position/subject:
- I am a primary school form tutor with a bit of leadership thrown in here and there.
- what’s your current focus in education?
- At the moment I'm pretty settled having found a school that I actually enjoy working for! I'm looking forward to growing into some of the leadership opportunities that have recently come my way.
- why did you apply to be an ambassador/what would you like to do as an ambassador?
- I love the idea of TCC and therefore want to help it to develop in any way that I can. Organising and leading group rides in my local area seemed like a great way to do this, which is why I applied to be an ambassador.
- how does riding help you?
- Cycling makes me feel good about myself in a number of ways, physically and mentally. I enjoy the sense of achievement I feel after a challenging ride as well as just being out and about in the countryside, taking it easy.
- what do you think is special about TCC?
- I like the fact that you can get a feel for the community before meeting up for group rides. It offers a nice alternative to the larger club rides, which I personally don't always enjoy.
- what are your current bike(s) and dream bike:
- I'm very happy with my small collection of two Liv bikes / I can't afford any more bikes! I ride the Avail through winter and switch to the Enviliv in the summer. Both are perfect for me.
- what’s your best cycling achievement or memory?
- I really enjoyed my first cycling holiday to Mallorca last year and I have the cycling holiday bug as a result, but because my partner doesn't cycle (and because I live on a teacher's salary!) I have to restrain myself to one a year really. Hard times!
- do you have a golden tip for teaching and/or cycling?
- My tip for cycling is just to do it in the way that works for you and in the way that's going to fuel your love for cycling. It doesn't matter what anyone else is doing or what they think about it.
